Harry Douglas

Douglas' first season in Tennessee didn't go exactly as planned, as the longtime Falcons slot receiver finished with his fewest receptions since 2010 with just 36 in 14 games. With the stylistically similar Kendall Wright still around, Dorial Green-Beckham more NFL ready, and Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe entering the fold at wide receiver, Douglas might not see the field much despite the team's propensity for going three-wide.

Following a six-year stint to begin his career in Atlanta, Douglas signed with the Titans this offseason, presumably with an eye on a larger role on offense. While Douglas was a serviceable No. 3 wideout behind Julio Jones and Roddy White for the Falcons, the Titans’ depth chart at receiver features no clear-cut top player. As a result, opportunity knocks for targets from rookie Marcus Mariota, and Douglas is just two years removed from an 85-catch, 1,000-plus-yard campaign while Jones was injured in 2013. To be clear, besides that season, Douglas had never topped 500 yards until last season (556), and he’s never scored more than two touchdowns, but the Titans’ open competition for seemingly all wide receiver positions makes Douglas an intriguing veteran to monitor leading up to this season.

A season-ending injury to Julio Jones, paired with a litany of bumps and bruises that hobbled Roddy White, pushed Douglas to the top of the Falcons' depth chart and a surprising career year. There may be a few extra targets available for him due to Tony Gonzalez's departure, but the health of Jones and White will be the biggest drivers of Douglas' 2014 numbers. If they're back in top form Douglas will once again be an afterthought in the offense, albeit one who's now proven he can be relied upon if needed.

Douglas has scored exactly one touchdown in each season he's been in the league, save for 2009, when he missed the whole season with a torn ACL. Atlanta simply has too many mouths to feed for Douglas to be a consistent fantasy option.

Douglas will work out of the slot again in 2012, and with opposing teams paying close attention to Roddy White and Julio Jones on the outside, the 27-year-old might see an increase in the 64 targets he got last year. Douglas finished 2011 with career highs in receptions (39) and yards (498), but scored just one touchdown. He's got the speed to make some big plays this season, especially if White and Jones are commanding a lot of attention.

After sitting out the 2009 season with a torn ACL, Douglas rebounded in 2010, grabbing 22 receptions for 294 yards and one touchdown. Douglas still showed flashes of speed last season, but he didn't get many opportunities behind the likes of Roddy White, Michael Jenkins and Tony Gonzalez in the Falcons potent offense. The addition of rookie Julio Jones doesn't do anything to help Douglas' stock either. He'll see some action in the slot this season, but the Falcons have many other options they'll be looking to first. Douglas really only has value in deep leagues or if a receiver ahead of him gets hit by the injury bug.

Douglas was a popular sleeper pick before missing the entire 2009 season with a knee injury. If he can stay healthy, he could be a dangerous slot receiver and might even push Michael Jenkins for the starting receiver position.

The sky's the limit for the speedster Douglas, though with Tony Gonzalez expected to hog the short-to-medium range passes, Douglas may have to fight for more chances this season.

Douglas joins the Falcons with an opportunity to take the slot receiver role right out of training camp. He's more of a run-after-the-catch guy than a real deep threat, but he's got just enough size to be effective in red-zone situations will the ability to be a go-to guy on third downs
