October 20, 2014
Battle had two carries for three yards and two catches (on two targets) for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to the Redskins.
ANALYSIS
While starter Shonn Greene (hamstring) has been sidelined, it's been rookie Bishop Sankey that's dominated the backfield touches. Due to his limited opportunities, Battle offers minimal value.

Battle made the Titans' roster in 2013, but gained only 142 yards on 36 carries. He projects to be the third wheel in Tennesee's rushing attack behind Shonn Greene and second-round pick Bishop Sankey.
Battle will look to crack the Titans roster out of camp, which could be difficult as he's currently behind Chris Johnson, Shonn Greene, and Darius Reynaud on the depth chart, and also has Jalen Parmele to contend with. If he does in fact make the roster, chances are his snaps will be very limited.
Battle was a productive player for the Chiefs at times in 2011, rushing for 597 yards with a healthy 4.0 per carry average. In San Diego, he could be a viable option to backup Ryan Matthews, although Ronnie Brown figures to have the inside track to that role.
Battle will be the Chief's fourth running back if he is able to make the roster.
A shoulder injury prematurely ended Battle's 2009 season after just five games. He'll be healthy for training camp, but he's more of a special teams player than a running back. Buried behind Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones and others on the RB depth chart, he's not even guaranteed a roster spot.
Battle will compete for a roster spot in training camp, but it won't be an easy fight. With Larry Johnson and Jamaal Charles locked into the top two running back slots, Battle must fend off Kolby Smith, Dantrell Savage and rookie Javarris Williams to earn his spot. We don’t like his chances, and he’ll likely be cut before the start of the season.
Battle saw action in a few games at the tail end of 2007, recording 47 yards on 14 carries. He’ll battle for a roster spot this season, but stands little chance of cracking the top three (Larry Johnson, Kolby Smith, Jamaal Charles). He probably won’t survive the final roster cutdown.
