Terrell was one of three veteran receivers to work out with the Chiefs on Monday, the Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Todd Haley seems unimpressed with the Chiefs' current receiving options after Dwayne Bowe, and it appears Kansas City is looking to bring in another veteran to compete at the position. Terrell never panned out as the eighth overall pick in the 2001 draft and hasn't caught an NFL pass since 2005, so a contract with the Chiefs would be a bit of a surprise. Amani Toomer and D.J. Hackett, the other two receivers to work out, are probably better options.

Terrell returns to the Broncos in 2007, the team that cut him prior to last season, when Terrell ended up sitting out the year. This year he should fight for a reserve receiver role, but it won't be easy with the addition of Brandon Stokley and the return of second-year receiver Domenik Hixon, who sat out the entire 2006 season with a broken foot.
Terrell saw action in just one contest for the Broncos last season, but that figures to change in 2006. Its looks like Ashley Lelie won't be in the fold for the Broncos in 2006, so Terrell could have a shot at the third wide receiver position. Even if that spot does go to Darius Watts, who drew praise from coach Mike Shanahan during offseason workouts, the Bronco's somewhat unstable receiving situation lends itself to more playing time for Terrell. Its unclear how Javon Walker's knee will respond this season, and Rod Smith isn't getting any younger, so Terrell could have some opportunities to shine in 2006.
Terrell, the eighth overall pick in the 2001 draft, has not come close realizing his potential, frustrating the Bears with a lack of discipline, on and off the field. He was signed by the Broncos after being cut by New England in September.
The underachieving Terrell has worked hard in the offseason to fulfill his potential. This is a make-or-break year for him. He's battling Justin gage for the number two starting WR spot opposite Marty Booker.
A broken left foot in October 2002 ended Terrell's season. He has proven that he can score when given a chance, but Terrell will not be a consistent fantasy producer until he convinces Chicago's coaching staff that he deserves a starting role. His practice habits have been questioned a lot, and improving those would likely go a long way towards helping him get on the field more often.
