Brandon Stokley: Opts to Retire
Stokley (concussion) will retire at the end of the 2013 season, the Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Already on injured reserve with a concussion, Stokley has unsurprisingly played his last down in the NFL. His 15-year career was spent with five different organizations, and he only reached the 700-yard receiving plateau once, as part of the historic 2004 Indianapolis offense. Stokley's most memorable moment came in the first quarter of Super Bowl XXXV, when he burned Jason Sehorn for the game's first touchdown, en route to a 34-7 blowout win for the Ravens. Despite that notable moment, Stokley will be best remembered for his time with the Broncos and Colts

After appearing in only two games in 2011, Stokley returned to his former self last season, registering his most receiving yards since 2007 (544). Also, his five touchdowns matched the second highest total of his career. However, the 36-year-old receiver was not brought back by the Broncos this offseason and signed a ways into training camp with the Ravens. He will compete for the third or fourth receiving spot in training camp behind Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones and should have the opportunity to work out of the slot.
