ANALYSIS
Dent played six NFL seasons, three with the Falcons and three with the Texans, recording 203 tackles and three passes defensed across 90 games. He hasn't played since 2016 and was unlikely to get another opportunity with a club in 2019. He'll now operate as a defensive assistant coach for the Texans.

Dent started seven games for the Texans in 2014, his first with the team, and was re-signed for the 2015 season. He opened training camp on the active/physically unable to perform list, but is expected to be activated before the start of the regular season. He'll compete for a starting spot at inside linebacker.
Dent was traded from Atlanta to Houston where he'll be part of the committee at inside linebacker. There's a starting spot open at that position and Dent brings some NFL experience to the mix. He's started 20 games over the past two seasons and has some life in him after being a third-round draft pick in 2011.
Dent is pegged to begin the season as the starting middle linebacker in 2013. He racked up 65 tackles in 16 games last season, but he should improve on those numbers in his third year in the league. Sean Weatherspoon and Stephen Nicholas are the Falcons linebackers to target in IDP leagues, but Dent will also put up solid numbers. Triple-digit tackle numbers are not out of the question.
Dent looks like he'll be the starting middle linebacker for the Falcons in 2012 as Lofa Tatupu was released after suffering a season-ending injury in late July. The Atlanta native finished his final year at Georgia with 125 tackles, including 6.5 for a loss. He’ll breeze past triple-digit tackles if he earns Curtis Lofton's former role on the inside.
The rookie will provide depth in his first season in the NFL as the Falcons plan to use him as a middle linebacker, and Curtis Lofton and Coy Wire are ahead of him on the depth chart.
