Rest-of-Season Projections
Davis rushed 40 times for 177 yards and caught 12 passes for 90 yards and one touchdown as the backup to Steven Jackson this season.
ANALYSIS
When Davis initially signed with the Rams it was thought he'd see 8-12 touches a game. However, he never developed into a fantasy threat this year due to the rapid rise of Jackson. There is some speculation that the Rams will try and re-sign Davis because he's still a talented back, but the team won't give him huge money because they've got some other very large holes to fill on the defensive line. If Davis does re-sign he'll compete for the backup job behind Jackson with Tony Fisher.

Davis passed one of the most rigorous physicals the Rams have ever given a player which should be an indication that his knee is not currently a problem. With that issue seemingly behind him Davis became the Rams' #2 running back behind starter Steven Jackson as soon as he signed his one year contract. Despite Davis missing all of the Rams' preseason head coach Scott Linehan still said he expected the veteran back to see "quite a bit of action" in Week 1 against Denver, which can only mean he's going to be seeing quite a bit of action all year, or until his knee gives out. With Steven Jackson having struggled with injuries himself over the last couple of years Davis could become a valuable fantasy commodity. However, as long as Jackson is serviceable expect Davis to be limited to 8-12 touches a game at most with Jackson still seeing most of the goal line touches as well.
