Levitre (triceps) announced his retirement from the league Tuesday via his personal Twitter account.
ANALYSIS
Levitre proved to be a remarkably durable player throughout his first nine years as a pro, suiting up in 141 consecutive games for the Bills, Titans and Falcons between 2009 and 2017. A partially torn triceps at the end of the 2017 season forced him to miss Atlanta's run to the divisional round of the playoffs, and the injury re-emerged in September, forcing him to miss 14 of 16 games last year. Initially a second-round draft choice of Buffalo, Levitre grew into a quality starter for two Falcons playoff teams and played every offensive snap in the Super Bowl LI loss to New England. His $42 million earned during 10 years of NFL service ranks 10th all-time among offensive guards, per Spotrac.

A candidate to start at left guard.
The 6-2, 305-pound Levitre will open the 2014 campaign as for Tennessee's starting left guard.
Levitre enters 2013 fresh off signing a huge $46.8 million deal, and hopes that his balky knee holds up throughout training camp. If healthy, he'll start at left guard for the Titans, and be a key blocker for the Tennessee offense.
Starting offensive lineman who's quickly becoming one of the NFL's better left guards. Levitre also is versatile, spending time at left tackle and even center last season due to injuries. He and Eric Wood are the team's two best offensive linemen.
Starting left offensive guard, with little competition behind him.
Starting left guard. The Bills drafted Levitre in the second round of 2009, and coupled with Eric Wood, a first-rounder from that same draft, should form the team's guard tandem for quite some time. The guard spots are the strongest positions on Buffalo's O-Line, by a decent margin.
Levitre, a second-round choice in May, can play guard or tackle, and the Bills need depth after losing three O-Line starters. He'll compete with Kirk Chambers for the starting left guard spot.
