Pittman will compete with Kenneth Darby for the primary back-up role behind starter Steven Jackson. Darby seems to have the inside track so it will be up to Pittman to prove he's improved his pass blocking and pass catching abilities or a No. 3 RB role will be the best he can hope for. That being said, even if Pittman wins the No. 2 spot he'll be a fringe fantasy prospect at best, even in deep leagues, as Jackson is a true workhorse that rarely comes off the field.

Will compete with Travis Minor for the back-up RB job behind starter Steven Jackson. If Pittman wins the job he'll still only have marginal fantasy value in deep leagues as Jackson is a workhorse that rarely comes out, even on third down.

A natural runner with outstanding patience, Pittman is a big-play threat who can take it the distance. He had 14 100-yard games combined in 2005 and 2006 for Ohio State, averaging more than 5.0 YPC in both years. He joins a potent offense in New Orleans, but also one with two elite running backs in front of him.
