Darius Walker

Walker is one of several backs looking to move up the depth chart in Houston. He had a strong finish to the 2007 season, an opportunity available because of injuries to Ahman Green and Ron Dayne. Green is back and healthy for now, while the Texans added free agent Chris Brown from Tennessee and drafted Steve Slaton. Add in Chris Taylor, who is returning from a knee injury, and you see that Walker has a lot of competition. A deep sleeper at running back.

Walker, who was released by the Texans prior to training camp, re-signed him after they learned of Chris Taylor's season-ending knee surgery and Wali Lundy's sore back. Walker will start the season on Houston's practice squad.
