There are a few receivers ahead of Camarillo on the depth chart, but none of them are particularly great. That being said, even if he does move up, his fantasy potential is rather limited in Minnesota. He'll likely be limited to punt return duties.
In his second season since suffering a torn ACL, Camarillo is expected to be at full strength for the 2010 season. He will need to be at his best in order to hold onto a starting job. Brandon Marshall is an obvious starter with Davone Bess the likely starter opposite him. That leaves the slot position open for Camarillo or second year player Brian Hartline. If Camarillo is not able to show that burst of speed off the line of scrimmage than he may find himself playing in only obvious passing situations that require four wideouts.
Camarillo is a heady player who was leading the Dolphins in receptions last year before tearing his ACL. He hasn’t had any setbacks in his recovery, but be sure to see how he is doing in training camp before investing in him this season. If healthy, he could re-establish his worth as a credible threat opposite Ted Ginn. If not, the team will need to turn to the likes of Davone Bess and rookie Patrick Turner.
After the highlight of his life in 2007--making the touchdown grab that gave the Dolphins their sole win of the season--Camarillo will be a depth guy at receiver and expected to contribute on special teams and won't have much fantasy value. He seemed to emerge as a favorite of Cleo Lemon; thankfully for the Dolphins, that era has passed.
