Rest-of-Season Projections
The Buccaneers are hoping to get something out of Crowell in 2010, the St. Petersburg Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Even though Crowell has missed each of the last two seasons, his last with the Bills in 2008 and his first with the Buccaneers in 2009, the team brought him back on a one-year deal for 2010 based on his past performance. Quincy Black is now the starter at strong side linebacker and coming off a solid 98-tackles season, but Crowell was arguably a better player before his injury problems of the last two seasons. Crowell could give Black, or even Geno Hayes on the weak-side, a run for his starting position if he can return to form.

Crowell was a rising star at LB for the Bills prior to missing the entire 2008 season with knee problems. Crowell had 127 tackles during his last full season in 2007. If he can regain his 2007 form and stay healthy, Crowell would definitely be worth consideration in IDP leagues and could provide a major boost to the Buccaneers' defense in 2009.
