Dawkins played in only 11 games last season, but he will still able to produce 55 tackles, two sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles. He remains one of the hardest hitting safeties in the game, but his days among the elite are over.
Dawkins is a big time hitter who directs the Broncos' defense from his free safety position. He set a career high with 116 tackles in 2009, but he will turn 37 years old in October, so we should not expect the same kind of production in 2010.
Dawkins begins his first season outside of Philadelphia to become the main cog in the defensive backfield for the Broncos. Dawkins had 3.0 sacks and one interception in 2008 and continues to make his money on tackles, of which he has had 98, 37 (10 games), and 75 in the last three seasons. His six forced fumbles last year were good enough for second in the NFL and he remains one of the hardest hitting safeties in the league, despite turning 36 midway through the 2009 season.
Dawkins 2007 campaign was lost to various injuries, but he is expected to be at full health and in the Eagles' starting lineup for the 2008 season. Dawkins will hold IDP value by picking up a 2-3 sacks, 3-4 picks and 80 tackles.
Starting free safety. Dawkins is a fine IDP option, consistently racking up tackles and picking off 3-4 passes each year.
Leader of the Eagles' secondary as the team's starting free safety.
The Eagles' second-round draft choice in 1996 landed a starting role in the second game of his rookie season and has averaged 91 tackles per year while posting 25 interceptions and countless train-wreck hits.
Dawkins is an excellent hard-hitting fearless veteran and is the heart-and-soul of the Eagles secondary. Dawkins returns after an injury plagued 2003, and his health may continue to be an issue for him in 2004 as his age catches up to him.
Dawkins, who had 56 solo tackles, two interceptions, four fumble recoveries, 12 passes defensed and three sacks a year ago, should continue to thrive in Jim Johnson's aggressive, blitz-happy defensive schemes.
