2023 Fantasy Outlook

In his first year with the Alfa Romeo squad Bottas captured 49 points and finished 10th in the standings. It was his first season without a podium finish since he joined the series in 2013, though. The Alfa Romeo squad was not able to develop their cars as much as some other contenders and Bottas lost ground in the championship positions as a result. His best results of the season came within the first nine races. Reliability also plagued him with five DNFs in the last 13 races compared to just one in those first nine. As a Formula One veteran with 10 career wins Bottas is certainly not a driver to sleep on in 2023, however. If the current pattern holds, he should be expected to get the most out of the car early in the year, but he and the team will need to continue getting more speed out of their 2023 car through the remainder of the season to finish higher in the standings than they did in 2022. ANALYSIS
Bottas got the rare opportunity to showcase his skill this season, as rainy conditions helped level the playing field from a car and tire wear perspective. He qualified 11th and missed out on Q3 by only one-tenth of a second. He slipped a few spots during the race, though this still marked his best finish since the Canadian Grand Prix in early June. The performance wasn't enough to save Bottas' seat in 2025, as Kick Sauber announced that they signed Gabriel Bortoleto to pair with Nico Hulkenberg in 2025, Lawrence Barretto of F1.com reports.
