ANALYSIS
Speight threw for a career-best 466 yards in his final collegiate game. He scored on a one-yard touchdown run to put his team up by a point in the fourth quarter, but Stanford responded and UCLA failed to convert on any of its final three drives. Speight's finishes his final season with just six touchdowns, while also throwing six interceptions. While the Michigan transfer lost his starting job after an early season injury, he earned it back and lead his team to two of its three victories on the year down the stretch.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
Speight enters the fall atop the Michigan depth chart, but he'll need to put together a strong showing in camp to hold off Brandon Peters for the starting job. He started 12 games last season despite battling through a non-throwing shoulder injury late in the campaign, finishing the year completing 61.6 percent of his passes for 2,538 yards (7.7 YPA) 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. There'll be a new set of challenges for Speight in 2017 with his top three targets from a year ago now gearing up for their first NFL training camps, as well as having to learn new wrinkles under new passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton. That said, Speight's new crop of pass-catchers, highlighted by freshmen Donovan Peoples-Jones and Tarik Black, in addition to sophomores Eddie McDoom and Kekoa Crawford, is remarkably talented. Speight (6-6, 243) has prototypical size for a quarterback and the full year of starting experience should help him get off to a fast start this season, but Michigan's run-heavy system will likely prevent him from having fantasy production worthy of rostering in shallow or one-QB formats.
