Bound for Ole Miss
January 18, 2023
Howard announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he has committed to Ole Miss, joining the program as a transfer from LSU.
ANALYSIS
A heralded recruit from the 2022 signing class, Howard opted to move on from LSU after one season with the program. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound signal-caller served as LSU's No. 3 quarterback during his freshman campaign, appearing in just two games while completing two of four pass attempts for seven yards and rushing six times for 33 yards. Howard will be able to play immediately for Ole Miss in 2023 and will have up to four years of eligibility to use, but he may have to settle for backup duties during his first season in Oxford with the Rebels bringing back incumbent starter Jaxson Dart. Expect Howard to at least receive the opportunity to challenge Dart for the starting role during spring workouts and summer camp.
