Trevor Knight

The former Oklahoma Sooner will be donning a different shade of red this fall when he suits up for the Aggies. His career arc in Norman was as topsy turvy as we’ve seen in recent memory, peaking with a legendary performance to down Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and subsequently failing to live up to unrealistically high expectations the following year before ultimately losing the starting job to Baker Mayfield. He comes to College Station with a fresh start and one more shot to prove he’s a starter-level talent. Knight will have plenty of help around him as A&M sports arguably the best starting receiving corps in the SEC, led by Christian Kirk and bolstered by Josh Reynolds, Ricky Seals-Jones, and the mercurial Speedy Noil. Furthermore, Knight’s experience as a starter ought to afford him the full confidence of head coach Kevin Sumlin. Texas A&M’s pass-happy approach and lack of a true workhorse running back should help bolster Knight’s fantasy value, though he may never be a polished passer.
