2024 Fantasy Outlook
The former Florida back transferred to rival Georgia and is expected to lead the backfield. In Year 1 under Mike Bobo, Georgia leaned on the now-departed Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton for the bulk of the work. Etienne churned out a pair of 700-yard seasons in Gainesville and is arguably more talented than either Milton or Edwards were, so it stands to reason that he could post better production and higher volume than his predecessors. It's worth noting that Georgia has some unproven sleepers in its backfield behind Etienne, though, such as Roderick Robinson and Branson Robinson. Additionally, Georgia has not had a runner come close to 200 carries since D'Andre Swift in 2019, so Etienne may need to make his mark through explosiveness. Read Past Outlooks
Bottled up in loss to Irish
Etienne posted 11 rushes for 38 yards and hauled in all four targets for 26 yards during Thursday's 23-10 defeat to Notre Dame.
ANALYSIS
Georgia struggled to move the ball all afternoon, so Etienne's performance wasn't an outlier. Still, the tailback couldn't get anything going, and it was the fourth time he's failed to hit even 40 rushing yards this season. Etienne had an underwhelming campaign, one that was also marred by injuries as he missed four games. He'll have one more season of eligibility remaining.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Etienne essentially split carries with Montrell Johnson a season ago, though both backs achieved some level of success in 2022. Etienne proved to be a bit more of a big-play threat, averaging 6.1 yards per carry as compared to 5.4 yards per tote for Johnson. However, Johnson found the end zone 10 times on the ground, while Etienne scored on just six occasions. Neither back did much damage in the passing game, though that is an area that Etienne should improve on based upon his genetics as well as the fact that a pocket passer has been brought in to replace Anthony Richardson. Richardson was a dangerous, dynamic dual-threat quarterback, while his replacement Graham Mertz will be largely stationary. That being said, teams could also try to load the box against Etienne and Johnson and force Mertz to prove he can beat opposing defenses with his arm. Mertz was inconsistent during his time at Wisconsin. Regardless, the Gators will still rely on a heavy dose of the running game, and Etienne will play a crucial role in that regard.
