Cleared for Week 7
Kansas offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon said MacVittie (shoulder) is back practicing and will be "full go" for Saturday's game against West Virginia, Matt Galloway of The Topeka Capital-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Though he'll dress in Week 7 after sitting out Kansas' most recent game Oct. 3 against Oklahoma State with the shoulder injury, MacVittie will likely serve as the top backup to Miles Kendrick, whom Dearmon said would pick up another start under center. With a 60.5 percent completion rate, 5.7 YPA and 2:2 TD:INT through two appearances, Kendrick won't have much job security, so MacVittie could get a look at some point again this season now that he's healthy again. In addition to Kendrick and MacVittie, Week 4 starter Jalon Daniels (undisclosed) may also see work once he recovers from the injury that's expected to sideline him for Saturday's game.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
MacVittie makes sense for new Head Coach Les Miles as he recruited him when he was at LSU. MacVittie struggled for a couple of years at Pittsburgh before finding some success at a junior college where he's ranked as one of the nation's top junior college pro-style quarterbacks by recruiting sites. Kansas' offense will be a bit of a mystery in Miles' first year and it's very likely they lean on their strong offensive line and run-game led by superstar Pooka Williams. This will limit the upside of MacVittie as a fantasy entity.
