Leaving East Carolina
Williams entered his name into the NCAA's transfer portal last week and is expected to leave East Carolina, Stephen Igoe of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Players can still return to their original school after entering the transfer portal, but since the Pirates no longer list Williams on their official 2020 roster, the expectation is that he'll move on to another program. Williams received limited action as a redshirt freshman last season, carrying 34 times for 164 yards and catching five passes for 12 yards. He was unlikely to receive a major boost in opportunities in 2020 with Darius Pinnix, Trace Christian and Demetrius Mauney all returning for East Carolina.
