Calls end to career
Martell has no plans to use his fifth season of eligibility in 2022 and plans on retiring from football, Joe Arrigo of FranchiseSportsMedia.com reports.
ANALYSIS
So ends an eventful career Martell, who started out as a highly touted quarterback prospect who committed to Texas A&M before flipping to Ohio State later in his recruitment. After a brief stint with the Buckeyes, Martell transferred to Miami (Fla.) in 2019, but he threw just one pass over two years with the Hurricanes. He transferred back to his hometown team (UNLV) for 2021 and made two appearances for the Rebels, completing two of six attempts for 27 yards while carrying five times for two yards.
