Declares for NFL Draft
Williams announced after Saturday's bowl game that he will enter the 2017 NFL Draft, Joe Mussatto of the AJC's SEC Country Blog reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams had 11 carries for 35 yards in his final collegiate game Saturday against Georgia Tech before declaring for the draft shortly after the contest. He began the season as Kentucky's top back, but freshman Benjamin Snell eventually supplanted him as the Wildcats' workhorse. Williams (5-9, 196) averaged an impressive 7.09 yards per carry en route to his first 1,000-yard season in 2016. Despite his impressive per-carry production, Williams lacks the ideal size for an NFL running back, which will likely drop him to the later rounds of the draft.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
The man they call Boom delivered on his nickname in 2015 and actually improved upon his already impressive freshman campaign (6.57 YPC on 74 carries) in a bigger role in the offense. He ended the season rushing for 855 yards on 121 carries, the second-best mark in the conference behind LSU’s Derrius Guice and the best among backs with over 100 carries. An elbow injury bothered Williams over the last two months of the season, causing him to miss two games, but he still managed 6.91 YPC in October and November. Kentucky will be installing a new system under former Cincinnati Bearcats OC that ought to result in the Wildcats putting more points on the board, but Williams should remain at the center of the offense with quarterback Drew Barker still learning the ropes as the starter. Provided Williams stays healthy (his elbow was 100 percent heading into fall camp), he should challenge for well over 15 carries per game while retaining excellent per-carry production.
