Chambers announced Sunday via his personal Twitter account that he has committed to FCS Montana State, joining the program as a transfer from Wyoming.
ANALYSIS
The redshirt junior elected to leave the Wyoming program in December, after Levi Williams surpassed him on the depth chart. Williams actually entered the portal one day before Chambers and has since landed at Utah State, so Wyoming will presumably turn its focus to adding an experienced signal-caller to the roster ahead of the 2022 campaign. As for Chambers, he should immediately be in prime position to resurface as a starting quarterback as he heads to the FCS. Over his four seasons at Wyoming, Chambers often battled injuries and struggled with accuracy, but he showed some intriguing ability as a dual-threat signal-caller. He leaves the Cowboys with 2,312 career passing yards and a 16:10 TD:INT to go with 1,092 rushing yards and 15 scores on the ground.
