Maxwell announced in April that he will join Division II program Indiana University of Pennsylvania as a graduate transfer, Spencer Holbrook of The Athens Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Since he already secured his undergraduate degree during his time at Ohio, Maxwell would have been eligible to compete immediately had he moved on to another FBS school. Instead, he elected to drop down to the Division II ranks, where he'll have an easier path to a starting role after working mainly as a backup to Nathan Rourke the past two seasons with the Bobcats. During his four total years at Ohio -- one of which he redshirted -- Maxwell passed for 1,773 yards, 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.
