ANALYSIS
Vedral was subbed in for sophomore quarterback Gavin Wimsatt, who was unable to return after suffering an undisclosed injury early in the fourth quarter. The senior signal-caller lost the Scarlet Knights' starting job after completing 12 of his 24 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown against Indiana in Week 8. 2022 Fantasy Outlook
Vedral is entering his third season as the presumed starting quarterback for the Scarlet Knights, though he may be in a lame duck situation with the program’s quarterback of the future Gavin Wimsatt waiting in the wings. Vedral has been unable to establish any consistency as a passer over his 20 games since transferring from Nebraska two seasons ago. Nor has he found efficient success as a dual-threat quarterback as he attempted over 100 rushes for just 2.9 yards per carry last season. The Rutgers coaching staff has expressed public confidence in their senior signal-caller, but it is a near certainty that Vedral will not have an exclusive claim on the team’s starting spot for the 2022 campaign, and his likely best case scenario would come from the Scarlet Knights opting to utilize a platoon approach at their quarterback position.
