Leaving school for draft
Williams announced Monday that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Ohio State to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, Spencer Holbrook of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams had a fifth season of eligibility available to him in 2024, but he'll instead wrap up his college career and make the jump to the professional ranks. After carrying 128 times for 825 yards (6.4 per carry) and 14 touchdowns over 12 games in 2022, Williams' production took a step back in 2023 while he worked in more of a supporting role behind a healthier TreVeyon Henderson. Williams averaged just 3.2 yards on 49 carries while appearing in six of the Buckeyes' first seven games in 2023 before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in early November.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Williams had been a solid runner for the Buckeyes prior to 2022, but the tailback exploded onto the scene last season. He logged 128 carries for 825 yards and 14 touchdowns, time and time again displaying his explosive ability and breakaway speed. Williams played so well that even when his uber-talented backfield mate TreVeyon Henderson was healthy, the two tended to split carries. Some of his production last season can be credited to the intermittent absence of Henderson, who dealt with a foot injury throughout the year and would miss five games. Williams, however, proved to be a formidable runner in his own right, and should only improve over the course of his senior season in Columbus. Last year, when the two tailbacks were heathy, they divvied up the backfield work rather evenly, so it’s reasonable to expect more of the same from Ryan Day’s offense in 2023. Even as part of what should be a backfield-by-committee, Williams’ potential is sky-high and he’s primed for another very productive season.
