McDonald returns to the Falcons for his senior season, looking to build on what was a decent but rather uninspiring first year as starter in 2021. The former transfer from Boston College waited his turn for one year before grabbing the starting job last season, where he put up 2,555 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions on 60.1% completion. He also ran for four touchdowns, but don’t consider him a mobile quarterback with his 0.2 yards-per-carry. The Falcons’ offense should only improve with more time to mesh, as Bowling Green returns McDonald’s top three pass catchers — wideouts Tyrone Broden and Austin Osbourne, as well as tight end Christian Sims. In addition, the team’s two leading rushers, Terion Stewart and Nick Mosely, also return. All the pieces are there for McDonald to improve as a quarterback.
