Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020
2019
Brooks took over the Sooner backfield in 2019 while averaging 6.5 yards per carry which ranked 19th in the country. This is impressive when you consider he carried the ball 155 times for 1,011 yards and five touchdowns. He's set to have an even better opportunity in 2020 as former teammate Trey Sermon departed for Ohio State and Oklahoma will be breaking in a new quarterback in redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler. The best indicator for Brooks is considering that the Sooners return four starters on perhaps the best offensive line in America. The junior should not be overlooked in upcoming fantasy drafts as back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons seems like a realistic possibility.
Brooks burst on to the scene as a true freshman in 2018 with a team-leading 1,056 yards and 12 touchdowns on 119 carries for a blistering 8.4 yards per carry. He and teammate Trey Sermon split carries after Rodney Anderson went down with a season-ending injury. With Oklahoma projecting to have one of the best offenses in the nation yet again, Brooks and Sermon will prove to be one of the best one-two punches in all of college football. Brooks will likely be the second back on the depth chart, but there will be plenty of carries for both of the speedy runners.
