Heading to NFL
Mond announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account he will forgo his final year of eligibility at Texas A&M to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
A senior this past season, Mond would have had the option of playing a fifth year for the Aggies in 2021 with the NCAA granting all players an additional season of eligibility due to the affect of the coronavirus pandemic on the 2020 campaign. The 6-foot-3 signal-caller instead decided he was better off getting his professional career off the ground, so he'll wrap up his time at College Station as one of the top quarterbacks in program history. Over his four seasons, he threw for 9,661 yards and 71 touchdowns while adding 1,608 yards and 22 scores on the ground.

2019
Mond is the top returning quarterback in the SEC this season, having combined for nearly 3,400 yards and 28 total touchdowns as a junior. Mond completed a career-high 61.1-percent of his passes in 2019, while also posting career bests of 500 yards rushing and eight touchdowns on the ground. Mond’s dual-threat ability will keep him productive on a weekly basis, even in the SEC. He will also have a deep, talented roster of skill players at his disposal, including Jhamon Ausbon, who finished sixth in the SEC in receiving yardage last season. Mond enters his third season as the undisputed starter for the Aggies and could even be a dark horse for the Heisman Trophy.
