Declaring for draft
Metchie (knee) announced Friday that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility at Alabama to enter the 2022 NFL Draft, Michael Casagrande of AL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite tearing the ACL of his left knee during Alabama's SEC Championship Game victory over Georgia, Metchie is apparently confident enough in the feedback he's received to end his college career and make the jump to the professional ranks. Before suffering the season-ending injury, he teamed with Jameson Williams to form one of the nation's deadliest receiving tandems. He wrapped up his junior campaign with 96 receptions for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns over 13 games.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Alabama is on an incredible run of success in terms of developing elite receiver talent and Metchie enters this season in the coveted position of being the Tide’s top target. Though he was playing in the shadow of DeVonta Smith, Metchie was extremely productive on a per-target basis in 2020, catching 70 percent of his targets at 11.6 YPT while scoring six touchdowns on 55 catches. His target volume projects to skyrocket into the triple digits and if he sustains the efficiency he showed in 2020, Metchie will be among the most productive receivers in football this fall.
