Tuel completed 33-of-53 passing for 350 yards and two interceptions Friday as Washington State stunned Washington 31-28 in overtime at home in Pullman.
ANALYSIS
Tuel's 350 yards passing against the Huskies provided him with his second-best numbers on the year through the air, but left the senior having tossed as many interceptions (eight) as touchdowns in his final season under center in Pullman.

After Connor Halliday threw for 494 yards and four touchdowns while Tuel (leg) sat against Arizona State last year, it seemed as if the latter had lost his role as Washington State's starter. But then Halliday suffered a lacerated liver, leaving Tuel the entire spring to win the starting role in new coach Mike Leach's Air Raid offense. Tuel dominated the spring and is the favorite to take over an offense that has one of the nation's absolute best receivers (Marquess Wilson) and should attempt more than 50 passes per game. Just make sure to verify that he did indeed beat Halliday for the job before you draft him.
Tuel plays in a rough situation, but he generally has done well for himself up to this point. He has two good wideouts in Marquess Wilson and Jared Karstetter, and he even showed some rushing ability towards the end of last year. If he improves from last year as much as he did between 2009 and 2010, he could be a surprisingly viable fantasy option this season.
Tuel was thrown to the wolves as a freshman but was far better than Washington State's older options. Tuel was better than Marshall Lobbestael and Kevin Lopina right away, so no one is a threat to take his job. Unfortunately, his production might not be so good. He threw six touchdowns and five interceptions in six games last year, but he averaged just 6.5 yards per attempt in a dreadful offense. Tuel could be a factor with more talent around him, but no one outside of Pac-10-only leagues should be concerned with him this year.
