JaTarvious Whitlow

Whitlow was able to set himself apart as a redshirt freshman despite plenty of competition for carries. He averaged 5.4 yards per tote en route to 777 rushing yards to lead the Tigers. He managed just four rushing scores, though, and he did not factor much into the passing game, as the Auburn offense stumbled during much of conference play. A new quarterback will be under center this year, so coach Gus Malzahn could lean heavily on the running game as whoever he names starter gets acclimated to the position. As a result, Whitlow could see an uptick in carries, though teams will be prepared to stop the run, and Kam Martin and Shaun Shivers remain in the fold for touches as well.
