Continuing career in FCS
Williams announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he has committed to Alabama A&M, joining the program as a transfer from South Florida.
ANALYSIS
A consensus four-star recruit coming out of high school in 2018, Williams began his collegiate career at Miami (Fla.), appearing in 13 games over three seasons with the program while completing 170 of 279 attempts (60.9 percent) for 2,204 yards and a 19:7 TD:INT to go with a rushing touchdown. He lost hold of the starting job entering the 2020 campaign with Houston transfer D'Eriq King taking over as the Hurricanes' signal caller, prompting Williams to enter the transfer portal last summer. After a stint in the JuCo ranks in 2020, Williams bounced back to the FBS level after committing to South Florida last offseason, but he re-entered the portal in November upon failing to gain much traction in his bid for a starting job. Williams should have up to two years of eligibility to use at Alabama A&M.
