Jalen Wayne

With Jalen Tolbert made a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys, it’s officially Wayne’s turn in Mobile. The junior out of Spanish Fort, Ala. was Tolbert’s understudy last season, snagging 53 balls for 630 yards and two scores. With Tolbert out of the way, Wayne is now the unquestioned WR1. The only thing holding Wayne back from being locked in for a massive year is his school’s quarterback situation. Gone is the steady hand of Jake Bentley, who will be replaced by either inexperienced Toledo transfer Carter Bradley, or Desmond Trotter, who has never thrown for more than 300 yards in a game. Wayne might not be up to Tolbert’s lofty standards, but he will need to step up if USA is to compete for a bowl berth, as he is surrounded by underclassmen on the depth chart.
