Jaelen Gill

Jaelen Gill flashed in 2020 when given his first meaningful playing time, and will look to build on a 29-435-1 line from a year ago. Working in Gill’s favor is the return of quarterback Phil Jurkovec, arguably the best passer the Eagles have had since Chase Rettig, if not Matt Ryan. The Eagles, normally a run-first offense, have major question marks and inexperience in their backfield, so we can loosely expect the offense to flow through Jurkovec and the passing attack. The downside to Gill however is the Eagles’ surprising depth at receiver. They return All-ACC deep threat Zay Flowers as well as big-bodied 6-foot-3 C.J. Lewis, and also are likely to welcome Kobay White, who led the team in receiving in 2019, back after he missed 2020 due to injury. Gill had two 100-yard games last season, and seven with just one or two catches. Given the depth, similar inconsistency with a stable season-long stat line seems likely.
