His rushing production was surprisingly shaky Saturday given the opponent, but he did manage to run for nearly 6.0 yards per carry against Virginia Tech in the opener. Patrick will face Syracuse on Saturday.

Despite splitting time out of the backfield for the majority of last season with Cam Akers, Patrick put up solid rushing numbers, racking up 748 yards and seven touchdowns along with 21 grabs for 171 receiving yards. Patrick and Akers could wind up in a similar platoon for the upcoming campaign, although newcomer Khalan Laborn has been working his way into the mix. Florida State’s offense is in line for an offensive upgrade this season with new coach Willie Taggart bringing an explosive system that worked wonders at both South Florida and Oregon. Even with a talent like Akers presenting a significant roadblock, the Noles’ offensive tempo will allow Patrick to see enough work to churn out more production in his final 2018 season.
