Haynes King

2024 Fantasy Outlook
King had a breakout year in 2023 with the Yellow Jackets after three quiet seasons at Texas A&M. The quarterback threw for 2,842 yards, 27 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while completing 61.6 percent of his passes. He was also Georgia Tech's second-leading rusher, tacking on 737 yards and 10 scores on the ground. King could stand to cut down on the turnovers and improve his accuracy numbers a bit, and he'll run it back with second-year offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner who helped orchestrate his breakout year. His top two receivers, Eric Singleton Jr. and Malik Rutherford, return, as does starting halfback Jamal Haynes. Ultimately, this offense should take another step forward with the returning production and scheme, and King figures to reap the rewards of that in his fifth-year senior season. Read Past Outlooks
Big day on the ground in win
November 11, 2024
King was 6-for-6 passing for 32 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 28-23 victory versus Miami (FL). He also had 20 rushes for 93 yards with one touchdown.
ANALYSIS
King traded time with Aaron Philo as Philo took care of most of the passing work for the day. However King was extremely successful on the ground attack and completed all of his passes when asked to do so.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
After coming out of high school as a 4-star quarterback prospect, King never panned out as he and fans hoped at Texas A&M. While jostling over starting duties with Max Johnson and Connor Weigman, King completed just 55.6 percent of his passes for 1,220 yards with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. King will look for a fresh start at Georgia Tech where he will battle with Zach Gibson for the reigns of the offense under first year head coach Brent Key and first year offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner.
King was a part of an intense quarterback competition preceding the 2021 season, and this upcoming season looks to be no different. Although King won the title of QB1 last year, the title was stripped away from him after just two games once he fractured his ankle against Colorado. But even though King was able to beat out Zach Calzada for a starting role in 2021, his new teammate turned competitor, Max Johnson, may be an even greater talent that King will have to overcome. Due to his injury early on, King lacks the experience and starting experience of Johnson who started at LSU. What King lacks in experience though, he compensates for with pure athletic ability. The incoming junior could be one of the fastest quarterbacks in the nation and is by far the most athletic QB at Texas A&M.
