Will miss remainder of season
Head coach Jeff Hafley indicated Monday that Takacs (lower leg) will be out for the remainder of the 2023 season, Trevor Hass of The Boston Globe reports.
ANALYSIS
Takacs has missed the last three games with a lower leg injury, which will force him to end his season early. The senior tight end finishes the year with six receptions on 17 targets for 64 yards and one touchdown. Jeremiah Franklin should see a boost in opportunities.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
George Takacs 2022 final numbers, 26 catches, 256 yards and a touchdown, are seemingly in line with the middling fantasy tight ends we’re forced to choose from once the few cheat codes are taken. It’s not a knock on Takacs as much as it is the state of the position in the game presently. Takacs did show flashes last year, twice catching seven balls in a game. The problem was they both came in the Eagles first three games. Personal injuries, quarterback struggles and the Eagles’ terrible offensive line forced him to run fewer routes, but Takacs did close decently with 16 targets in his final three games. Boston College has a major need for reliable pass catchers, highlighted by Takacs being the team’s leading returning receiver. Perhaps a lack of other options in Chestnut Hill suggest there’s room for growth. It’s not a stretch to suggest Takacs could catch 40 or more balls if he plays in all 12 games. On draft day, there are likely many options in a similar situation, but taking a late flier on Takacs won’t be expensive, and should he falter, you’ll be able to find similar production in a plethora of spots.
