Suffers season-ending shoulder injury
Canteen will miss the 2018 season after suffering a shoulder injury during Friday's practice, Christopher Dabe of NOLA.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Canteen previously sustained season-ending injuries during stints with Michigan and Notre Dame, and it appears as though the tough luck has followed him to Tulane. Head coach Willie Fritz said Canteen suffered the injury while diving for a ball, "nothing that you don't do 100 times a week." Over the past few years he's battled everything from an arm issue to a torn labrum, which forced him to miss all but three games with the Fighting Irish in 2017. Beyond the starting duo of Terren Encalade and Darnell Mooney, Jabril Clewis and Chris Johnson will likely receive more reps with Canteen out of the picture.
