Iowa State are typically known for their tight ends as it wasn’t too long ago when they featured Charlie Kolar and Chase Allen who were two of the best in the nation. There wasn’t a lot of production from the position last year with Dean and Deshawn Hanika combining for just 27 catches on 41 targets. The important part is that they combined for six touchdowns as any score is considered a premium at this position. With Iowa State’s all-time leading receiver, Xavier Hutchinson, off to the NFL, it will open more opportunity for both Dean and Hanika. Both are experienced at the position in a pro-style offense that should throw the ball quite a bit. Top receivers for the Cyclones are Jaylin Noel and Dimitri Stanley.
