Williams took the reins from the Huskies' struggling starter Will Rogers, who completed 10 of 13 passes for just 59 yards and an interception before being benched in the second half. The true freshman backup quarterback didn't provide a significant boost for the Huskies either, as the team still failed to score a touchdown. Williams has made regular appearances as a change-of-pace rushing quarterback throughout the season, but he's never appeared to truly challenge for the starting job at any point. Head coach Jedd Fisch said postgame that he expects Rogers to maintain the starting job, though it will be worth monitoring if this changes at any point before this coming Friday's home game versus UCLA.
