During his collegiate career, Brewer played three seasons at Baylor where he amassed 8,128 yards and 54 touchdowns, but he did not have the same success at Utah. The quarterback finished the 2021 season with 484 passing yards and three touchdowns after losing his starting job to Cameron Risin, which likely fueled his decision to transfer. Brewer has put himself in a good position to get the starting position over Johnathan Bennet, who lacks experience despite heading into his fourth season with the team.
