2022 Fantasy Outlook
McClelland has been a member of the Bearcats since 2018, but the senior has yet to take on a role similar to his freshman season. The 5-foot-11 running back tallied 37 carries for 190 yards and a touchdown, along with five catches for 34 yards in 2021. With workhorse running back Jerome Ford leaving the program to join the NFL, 215 backfield carries have been vacated for the Bearcats in 2022. McClelland’s role in filling those carries in uncertain as senior Ryan Montgomery handled a larger share of the backfield behind Ford in 2021, and Cincinnati has brought in LSU-transfer Corey Kiner (who handled 79 carries for 324 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman with the Tigers). Kiner and Montgomery figure to handle a solid share of the backfield opportunities in 2022, but McClelland will likely retain a similar role to the one he saw in 2021, with a possibility for expansion in the event of high-level efficiency, in an unsolidified Bearcats backfield
