Will not play in Sugar Bowl
Herrien did not travel with the team to New Orleans ahead of the Sugar Bowl, Seth Emerson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
During his Friday press conference, head coach Kirby Smart declined to answer whether Brian Herrien made the trip, stating "We're going to focus on the players that are playing in the game." Smart's comments indicate that Herrien did not make the trip and will not play in the Sugar Bowl against Baylor on Wednesday as the senior prepares for the NFL Draft. With D'Andre Swift's (shoulder) status also in question ahead of the game, James Cook may find himself with a big opportunity as the lead back after just getting cleared to play following his arrest earlier in December. Even if Swift plays, Cook will receive meaningful work in order to take some stress off the ailing Swift.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Herrien remains firmly behind D'Andre Swift on the depth chart, but the running back position is extremely thin other than that. James Cook is still working his way back from offseason ankle surgery, and Elijah Holyfield is in the NFL. As a result, Herrien may finally be able to break the glass ceiling of over 65 carries in a year that has eluded him since coming to Georgia. Herrien has shown he is a capable runner when given the opportunity, averaging nearly six yards per carry in two of his previous three seasons in Athens. D'Andre Swift remains the bell cow for this offense, but Herrien should see an increase in opportunities, particularly if the aforementioned Cook is not 100% healthy.
