During mid-December, Locke announced he would enter the transfer portal. Nakos' latest announcement indicates Locke has not only entered the transfer portal but also decided on his 2025 team. In 2024, Locke completed 164 of 296 pass attempts for 1,936 yards and a 13-10 TD-INT ratio. He also logged two rushing touchdowns. Now, the question is whether or not Locke can be Arizona's starting quarterback. The 2024 Wildcats' season included Noah Fifita as its QB1, and he is still expected to be enrolled there next year. But for an unimpressive 2024 Wildcats against Big 12 teams, Fifita completed less than 60 percent of 373 pass attempts for the aforementioned 13-10 TD-INT ratio. Perhaps the Arizona program may believe Locke can play better under his new circumstances. Coincidentally, he recorded all his 2024 yards and touchdowns against FBS teams, the lone non-Big Ten college being Alabama.
