Tears ACL again
Davis will miss the entirety of the 2022 campaign after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during practice Friday, Pete Sampson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Sampson previously tore the ACL in his left knee last November, but he was expected to be healthy this summer after making a full recovery over the last several months. The loss of the senior slot receiver just before the start of the 2022 season will leave the Fighting Irish with a significant lack of proven depth at wide receiver. Davis registered the second-highest targets of any returning wideout for Notre Dame in 2021, so finding his replacement in the slot will be a top priority heading into the team's Week 1 opener against Ohio State on Sept. 3.
