Flinn has been with the Pirates' program since 2019 but did not see his first game action until the 2023 season. He split time as the starting quarterback but overall saw more action than Mason Garcia, especially towards the end of the season. He finished the season completing 54.8 percent of his passes for 1,558 yards, six touchdowns and 12 interceptions, adding 188 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Michigan State transfer Katin Houser appears to be in line to start for the Pirates in 2024.
