Notre Dame: Kyle Rudolph Going Pro
Rudolph (hamstring) will declare for the 2011 NFL Draft, ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The NFL Draft Advisory Board reportedly told Rudolph that he'd likely go in the early second round at the latest. We'd guess that a fall to the mid or late second is also possible. Widely believed to be the top tight end eligible for this draft, we actually think that Lance Kendricks is the better player right now. In the 6-6, 260-pound range, Rudolph is the exact prototype for the NFL tight end, but his injury issues are very significant. Whether he goes ahead of Kendricks depends on how much scouts prefer upside to immediate production, with Rudolph having the advantage in the former and a disadvantage in the latter.

2010 Fantasy Outlook
Rudolph enters the season as one of the top tight ends in the nation. He stands 6-5 and weighs 265 pounds, so new quarterback Dayne Crist is going to have a tough time missing him. Rudolph racked up 364 yards and three touchdowns last season, but his numbers would have been a little better had he not missed the final three games with a shoulder injury. Rudolph will play a big role in Notre Dame’s new spread offense and will be a useful option in all leagues.
