Out for season with undisclosed injury
Illinois head coach Lovie Smith announced at the beginning of training camp that Meadors would be sidelined for the entire season with an unspecified serious injury, Isaac Trotter of 247Sports.com reports.

The Illini had earmarked Meadors, a graduate transfer from Applachian State, for the No. 3 wideout spot behind starters Ricky Smalling and Mikey Dudek before the injury sidelined him. It's unclear what exactly is plaguing Meadors, but Trotter relays that the receiver was spotted in a walking boot as recently as July. Meadors could apply for a medical redshirt and earn a sixth season of college eligibility in 2019, but he may prefer to end his playing days after he struggled with a lingering hamstring injury throughout 2017 and missed his entire freshman year due to an illness.
