Young registered nine carries for 19 yards, a rushing touchdown, and four receptions for 43 yards Saturday against Texas State.
ANALYSIS
Young has pretty much solidified his spot as the Illinois No. 2 running back, with 30 more carries than third place. Working more yards out of passes could bring him closer to Josh Ferguson, who has double the receiving yards.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2013
2012
Despite assuming a greater role in the running game last season, Young didn't make a huge leap in production, finishing with 571 rushing yards, 172 receiving yards and four total touchdowns. Much of that was a product of being deployed in a timeshare with change-of-pace back Josh Ferguson throughout the season. Though Young is slated to split playing time with Ferguson once again, he's viewed as the better goal line threat and figures to yield more touchdowns as a result. However, a weak offensive line and the Illini's sometimes erratic quarterback play will make it difficult for Young to see a ton of scoring opportunities.
With the graduations of Jason Ford and Troy Pollard, the Illinois offense must replace 221 carries. Young totaled 451 yards (5.2 YPC) and six touchdowns on just 87 carries last year, so the idea of him grabbing 100 or more of those – a likely scenario – has the potential to yield big numbers for fantasy owners. Young seems to have the goal-line role locked down in Illinois at least, which makes him a good bet to breeze past double-digit touchdowns in what should be an improved offense in 2012.
