Marshall dismissed Grooms from its football program, the Herald-Dispatch reports.

ANALYSIS
According to WCHS-TV Charleston-Huntington's Katy Brown, Grooms' dismissal followed an arrest for burglary and assault-related charges. Grooms has always been a talented athlete, but character issues disrupted his development and ultimately ended his career with Marshall. His departure leaves Steward Butler as a high-upside running back consideration heading into the year.

Grooms would have been a prime candidate to break out in 2014, but he was dismissed from the Marshall program after getting arrested on a felony burglary charge.

Last season, Grooms ran for 737 yards on 121 attempts and scored eight touchdowns - all team-highs. Steward Butler (101 carries) and Remi Watson (79) were also used frequently and the trio will likely split carries again in 2013. If Butler can manage to emerge as the feature back, his fantasy stock increases significantly, as the team returns eight offensive starters, including most of the offensive line.
